Where Denmark ends.
Grenen, Denmark. 2015

Here is where Denmark ends. The strip of sand North of Skagen, scattered with bunkers from the second world war, where one finds seals in winter and tourists in summer, is called Grenen, which means “branch” in Danish. The northernmost  point of the Jutland peninsula, keeps advancing (over the last century it has grown almost one mile) towards North-East, at the exact location where the Northern Sea (Skagerrat) and the Baltic Sea (Kattegat) meet, marking a clear-cut line between the waters of two seas clashing, yet not mixing up: a swirl of waves which, with each motion, redefines and redesigns the last strip of the Land of the Vikings.
